The 6862I sensor, developed by Hope RF, represents a new benchmark in environmental sensing technology. This advanced digital barometric pressure and temperature sensor is engineered for applications that demand exceptional accuracy, low power consumption, and robust performance in challenging environments.
At the heart of the 6862I sensor lies a capacitive pressure sensing element, a proven technology that ensures high precision and stability across varying temperatures. This makes the sensor particularly suitable for dynamic outdoor conditions and industrial environments where reliability is paramount.
The 6862I sensor combines engineering excellence with practical design. Its waterproof housing and compact dimensions (6.8 x 6.2 x 3.1 mm) enable seamless integration into space-constrained devices without compromising durability. Whether deployed in mobile devices, sports equipment, or industrial monitoring systems, the sensor delivers consistent performance under harsh conditions.
One of the defining features of the 6862I is its integrated signal processor, which converts raw pressure and temperature readings into 24-bit digital outputs. Each sensor undergoes individual factory calibration, and the resulting calibration coefficients are stored in dedicated registers. These coefficients allow the host processor to compensate for non-linearities, ensuring highly accurate pressure and temperature measurements across the entire operating range.
Block Diagram
The digital pressure sensor delivers high precision results, with an absolute pressure accuracy of ±1.0 mBar and relative accuracy of ±0.1 mBar the sensor has a pressure range from 300 to 1200 mBar, temperature accuracy is specified at ±0.5°C.
The sensors digital I2C interface allows for easy integration with the system host processor. The 6862I digital pressure sensor offers a configurable sampling rate from 1 Hz to 128 Hz, enabling designers to optimise for either power efficiency or data responsiveness. An internal FIFO buffer capable of storing up to 32 measurements reduces the need for frequent host polling, significantly lowering overall system power consumption - a critical advantage for battery-powered applications.
The sensor has an industrial operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and features low standby current of just 0.5uA (Typ.) allowing use in battery powered applications. Peak current consumption is 345μA (Typ.) during pressure measurement and 280μA (Typ.) during temperature measurement.
By combining high precision, low power consumption, and rugged design, the 6862I digital pressure sensor stands out as a best-in-class solution for modern sensing applications. Its flexible operating modes, integrated calibration, and ease of integration ensure reliable performance across diverse environments.
The Hope RF digital pressure sensor is suitable for applications including mobile weather stations, industrial equipment, smart gas meters, sports monitoring devices, IoT devices, data loggers and any equipment which requires high accuracy pressure measurement.

Industrial and embedded applications are required to operate under increasingly more stringent conditions, deployed with tighter constraints on space and budgets, and under harsher environments. To meet these demands, Harwin have announced an expansion of the popular Kontrol range of industrial board-to-board interconnects (BBi), by adding single row connectors and cables to the 1.27mm pitch (0.05") connectors. The expansion of the range has been designed to bridge the gap between high-end connectors and established pin header and socket solutions.
