Sensirion have released the SENSEVAL-SCB4XV1 evaluation board which combines temperature, humidity, indoor air quality and barometric pressure sensor in one board. This evaluation board features a unique combination of the Sensirion SHT40 humidity and temperature sensor, SGP40 indoor air quality VOC sensor and a STMicroelectronics LPS22DF barometric pressure sensor and is compatible with the STMicroelectronics DIL 24 socket system.
The combo board allows designers to measure and understand the indoor air quality around them and easily identify potentially harmful events. The evaluation board is supported by the STEVAL-MKI109V3 motherboard and is compatible with the X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1 and X-NUCLEO-IKS02A1 expansion boards from STMicroelectronics.
Temperature & Humidity Sensor - SHT40
The evaluation board features the SHT40 Digital humidity and temperature sensor offering ±1.8% / max. ±3.5% RH. In line with Sensirion’s industry-proven humidity and temperature sensors, the SHT40 offers the best price-performance ratio on the market. Tape and reel packaging combined with its suitability for standard SMD assembly processes make the SHT40 ideal for high-volume applications.
The SHT40 builds on a completely new and optimized CMOSens® chip that offers reduced power consumption and improved accuracy specifications. With the extended supply voltage range from 1.08 V to 3.6 V, it’s the perfect fit for mobile and battery-driven applications. The sensor has an exceptionally small size and is packaged in a robust DFN housing which enables integration into challenging designs while meeting the highest reliability demands, as demonstrated by the JEDEC JESD47 qualification. On top of that, the SHT40 is compliant with the relevant healthy building standards RESET® and WELL Building Standard™.
Indoor Air Quality VOC sensor – SGP40
For indoor air quality measurements, the board includes the Sensirion SGP40 digital VOC (volatile organic compounds) sensor designed for easy integration into air treatment devices and air quality monitors. Based on Sensirion’s patented CMOSens® Technology, the SGP40 offers a complete sensor system on a single chip and features a digital I²C interface, a temperature-controlled micro-hotplate and a humidity-compensated indoor air quality signal. In combination with Sensirion’s powerful VOC Algorithm (part of the gas index algorithm software), the sensor signal can be directly used to evaluate indoor air quality, e.g., for triggering the gradual fan control of an air treatment device. Both the SGP40 chip and VOC algorithm feature unrivalled robustness in the final application over their lifetimes. Pushing the multipixel and multi-hotplate approach to the next level of individual control of each sensing element, the SGP40 enables a drastic reduction in power consumption, making it suitable for battery-driven applications as well. On top of that, the SGP40 is also compliant with the relevant healthy building standards RESET® and WELL Building Standard™
Barometric Pressure sensor – LPS22DF
The LPS22DF from STMicroelectronics is also included on the evaluation board, this ultracompact, piezoresistive, absolute pressure sensor functions as a digital output barometer. The LPS22DF provides lower power consumption, achieving lower pressure noise than its predecessor. The device comprises a sensing element and an IC interface that communicates over an I²C, MIPI I3CSM, or SPI interface from the sensing element to the application and supports a wide Vdd IO range for the digital interfaces as well. The sensing element, which detects absolute pressure, consists of a suspended membrane manufactured using a dedicated process developed by STMicroelectronics. The LPS22DF is available in a LGA package (HLGA) and is guaranteed to operate over a temperature range extending from -40 °C to +85 °C. The LGA package is holed to allow external pressure to reach the sensing element.
The SENSEVAL-SCB4XV1 evaluation board from Sensirion helps designers quickly bring innovative ideas to life, simplifying the design process and reducing time to market.

Industrial and embedded applications are required to operate under increasingly more stringent conditions, deployed with tighter constraints on space and budgets, and under harsher environments. To meet these demands, Harwin have announced an expansion of the popular Kontrol range of industrial board-to-board interconnects (BBi), by adding single row connectors and cables to the 1.27mm pitch (0.05") connectors. The expansion of the range has been designed to bridge the gap between high-end connectors and established pin header and socket solutions.
The 6862I sensor, developed by Hope RF, represents a new benchmark in environmental sensing technology. This advanced digital barometric pressure and temperature sensor is engineered for applications that demand exceptional accuracy, low power consumption, and robust performance in challenging environments.
