The G5Q series from OMRON offers a compact, slimline and versatile relay suitable for a wide variety of applications, the G5Q has become a global standard for compact power relays having sold more than 500 million units since its launch in 2001. Omron have now introduced the compact latching relay/single-stable relay G5Q-HR, an advanced addition to the G5Q family, combining low power consumption, high inrush current resistance, and a compact design.
Available in coil voltages from 3V to 24 VDC the new -HR type includes option of stable, single or double winding latching contacts. The addition of latching contact options help meet the demand for energy saving making the relays suitable for applications requiring high efficiency when in standby mode or when used in battery operated equipment.
The G5Q-HR range has been designed to meet various high inrush standards including TV-8 (Peak inrush 117A / Break 8A 120 VAC), E Ballast 3A & 5A 277 VAC and IEC60669-1 (3A 277 VAC Capacitor 35uF).
Coil power consumption comparison, Standard vs. Latching contacts
High inrush capability
The G5Q-HR range has a compact slim design measuring just 20.3 x 10.3 x 15.8mm, compared with the popular G5RL OMRON relay this represents an approx. 43% reduction in PCB mounting area, yet the relay is still capable of handling currents up to 10A at 277 VAC.
Compact size
The OMRON G5Q-HR, an advanced addition to the G5Q family, combines low power consumption, high inrush current resistance, and a compact design. This PCB power relay is tailored for high-inrush current applications, including Inverters, Lighting, Building Automation, Smart Plugs, Factory Automation, Motor Control and Home Appliances.

The HIROSE BM54 series floating board‑to‑board connector is designed to absorb real‑world tolerances without sacrificing density.
As embedded systems continue to evolve, designers are increasingly challenged to deliver higher performance, stronger security, and longer battery life within increasingly compact products. Whether developing industrial sensors, smart building controls, healthcare devices, or connected IoT endpoints, selecting the right microcontroller is critical to achieving design goals. The latest STM32U3 microcontroller families from STMicroelectronics have been developed to address these challenges, combining modern processing capability with an energy-conscious architecture.
In today’s fast moving electronics world, robust circuit protection is essential for ensuring long-term reliability and safety. Taiwan Semiconductor’s latest snapback (Super Clamp) TVS technology incorporated into the LTD7S24CAH device marks a significant step forward in protecting sensitive circuits from transient voltage events.
STMicroelectronics have introduced the L6986I device, a high-performance synchronous buck converter that is designed for use in applications that require isolated power conversion.
HARTING has launched the new D-Sub PushPull housings. Designed to improve efficient and process-safe handling, the HARTING D-Sub PushPull transforms a well-known connector family into a simplified solution. The PushPull locking mechanism significantly improves the assembly process and reduces installation and maintenance time by up to 50%.
In the world of connected devices, one truth stands firm: even the smartest technology fails if it can’t survive the environment it’s built for. Rain, dust, vibration, UV—these forces don’t care how elegant your circuitry is. They’re relentless. That’s why CamdenBoss created Node & Hub: a new family of enclosures engineered not just to protect electronics, but to make every installation faster, cleaner, and smarter.
The EZPV Series from Panasonic delivers a highly versatile solution for DC Link and DC Filtering applications, offering a broad capacitance range and multiple operating voltage options.
