Panasonic Industry Europe has launched a Bluetooth® 5.0 Low Energy module based on the Nordic nRF52840 SoC single-chip controller. The module has an output power of up to +8 dBm and the high sensitivity of the nRF52840 in combination with the LE coded PHY make the module very attractive for applications that require a long range. In addition the ultra-low current consumption of the PAN1780 makes the module an ideal choice for battery powered devices.
The Bluetooth® 5.0 features of the PAN1780 module enable a higher symbol rate of 2Mbps using the high-speed LE 2M PHY or a significantly longer range using the LE coded PHY at 500 kb/s or 125 kb/s. The new channel selection algorithm (CSA#2) improves the performance in high interference environments whilst the new LE advertising extensions allow for much larger amounts of data to be broadcasted in connectionless scenarios. Besides BLE5.0 with the qualified Bluetooth® mesh profile stack the module also supports 802.15.4 and NFC-A. The PAN1780 supports Type 2 Near Field Communication (NFC-A) for use in simplified pairing and payment solutions (external antenna required).
The PAN1780 has an onboard Cortex™ M4F processor, 256kB RAM and built-in 1MB flash memory allowing the module to easily be used in standalone mode, thereby eliminating the need for an external processor, saving design complexity, space and cost.

Measuring just 15.6mm x 8.7mm x 2.0mm, the compact surface mount module has a rich set of security features which include an ARM® TrustZone® Cryptocell 310 security core that supports a secure boot process for secure device operation in the IoT space. In addition a temperature sensor is integrated in the PAN1780 module.
The PAN1780 modules are supplied in Tape and Reel packaging format making them suitable for automated production processes, they have an operating temperature range from -40°C up to 85°C and a supply voltage range from 1.7V up to 5.5V.
The modules have been carefully designed to meet the needs of IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) applications like devices for smart city infrastructure, industrial mesh networks or robotics within Industry 4.0 environments, these applications all benefit from the comprehensive features of the PAN1780 module. Other applications such as smart health and secure medical peripherals or building automation applications like smart locks or intelligent lighting are also ideal areas of use. Thanks to the high performance and the built-in security features of Cryptocell, the PAN1780 Bluetooth® module it is also an excellent solution for edge computing products.

Industrial and embedded applications are required to operate under increasingly more stringent conditions, deployed with tighter constraints on space and budgets, and under harsher environments. To meet these demands, Harwin have announced an expansion of the popular Kontrol range of industrial board-to-board interconnects (BBi), by adding single row connectors and cables to the 1.27mm pitch (0.05") connectors. The expansion of the range has been designed to bridge the gap between high-end connectors and established pin header and socket solutions.
The 6862I sensor, developed by Hope RF, represents a new benchmark in environmental sensing technology. This advanced digital barometric pressure and temperature sensor is engineered for applications that demand exceptional accuracy, low power consumption, and robust performance in challenging environments.
Discover the latest in efficient power conversion with the cost-effective STMicroelectronics DCP3601 buck converter and the STEVAL-3601CV1 evaluation board. The DCP3601 delivers up to 1 A load current across a wide 3.3 V to 36 V input range, making it ideal for diverse industrial applications. Its 1 MHz fixed switching frequency enables compact designs, while advanced EMI management and robust protection features ensure reliable operation even in demanding environments.
KYOCERA AVX’s has expanded its 3dB 90° hybrid couplers – the DB0402 adds a miniature 0402 size package to the family which already includes the DB0603, and DB0805 series – engineered to meet the growing demands of high-frequency wireless systems across industrial, automotive, telecommunications, and telemetry sectors.
