The 570 series Easy Locking Connector (ELC) from Binder features an intuitive locking system which provides protection against intrusion of liquids, water splash and touching of the contacts on the female panel connector.
The IP54 rated connectors are ideal for use in applications where there could be the potential for liquid splashes to come into contact with the connector contacts such as medical equipment, portable instruments and industrial machines. The 570 series ELC connectors have been designed for demanding applications such as patient monitoring in medical, clinical and home health care industries.
The 570 series ELC connectors are available with 12 contact positions capable of carrying currents up to 2A and with a rated voltage of 150V. The connectors are moulded from robust Nylon PA66 material and have solder contacts constructed from brass (CuZn) with gold (AU) plating giving excellent mechanical durability in excess of 5000 mating cycles.
The female panel connector has an innovative spring loaded insert which covers the contacts thus protecting them from exposure to liquids or other contaminants within the environment in the unmated state, therefore no separate cover is required to protect the panel connector when not in use.
The male connector has a push lock mechanism which when mated with the panel connector pushes the spring loaded insert back into the housing allowing for reliable contact connection to be made. The 570 series connectors use a simple snap hook locking retention feature making them very easy to connect and disconnect with one hand operation and no tools required, whilst the asymmetric shape of the mating area prevents accidental mismating.
The connectors are suitable for use with wire gauge 0.25mm² and the male cable mount connectors are available in 2 models suitable for 4.0 to 6.0mm and 6.0 to 8.0mm cable diameters, the connectors are suitable for use in an operating temperature range of -25°C to +85°C.
