Phoenix Contact has launched a new family of electronics housings, the Universal Case System UCS series offers developers an extremely versatile housing solution which has been specially designed for embedded systems.
Featuring a modular design and removable side panels, the UCS series universal electronics housings enable modular electronic solutions to be developed in heights of 47mm and 67mm. The enclosures are available in 2 standard colours, light grey (RAL 7035) and black (RAL 9005).
TheUCS series housings have IP40 level protection providing individual and standard size PCBs with reliable protection against foreign bodies, the enclosures and can be used as desktop, wall or DIN rail housings. The design-oriented electronics housings are made of polycarbonate (UL94V-0) and are suitable for a wide range of operating temperatures from -40°C to +85°C.
The modular design of the UCS series allows different combinations of housing parts to be assembled together to create a solution with a large number of possibilities. Another benefit of the modular design is it also helps reduce the logistics outlay for device manufacturers. A range of accessories are also available including impact resistant corner bumpers, stacking adapters, desktop stands and wall brackets.
The UCS series housings also enable easy integration of individual interfaces for signal, data, and power transmission. PCB terminal blocks, wire-to-board or board-to-board PCB connectors, M12 circular connectors and Data connectors for copper and fibre optics are all examples of connection interfaces which can be integrated into the housings.
