Introducing the PTSM and PTF Series of LED Lighting Connectors from Phoenix Contact

Hir1

Phoenix Contact has an innovative range of connectors which have been specifically designed around the requirements of the LED Lighting industry. The PTSM and PTF series allow for quick and reliable connection of rigid linear and flexible LED lighting strips and arrays.

Utilising a small and flat design, the PTSM product range is ideal for LED applications in particular rigid Linear LED lighting systems. The range includes PCB connectors and PCB terminal blocks, as well as board-to-board and wire-to-wire connectors. PCB connectors are available in SMD or Through hole mounting method in right angle or horizontal orientation. Wires can be terminated to the cable and PCB mount connectors using Push-in spring connection technology allowing for fast reliable installation without the need for tools. The low profile connectors are available in 1 to 8 positions and can be specified with positive latches on the sides of the housing enabling stable latching with the counterpart connector to prevent accidental disconnection.

The white connectors are available with 2.5 mm pitch and are designed for currents up to 6 A and voltages up to 320 V. Thanks to the convenient Push-in connection, conductor wires with cross sections from 0.14 mm² to 0.50 mm² can be connected quickly and reliably. Black and white versions are available for various areas of application.

More Info

The PTF series has been designed for connecting flexible LED lighting strips, utilising this connector system it is possible to connect Wire to flexible LED strip as well as connecting 2 or more flexible LED strips directly together. The PTF connectors are available in 2 and 4 positions, suitable for use with 0.15mm to 0.3mm thickness flexible LED strips in 8mm and 10mm widths, the system comprises of 3 key elements.

Butt connectors, featuring a novel integrated locking mechanism these are used to connect 2 or more flexible strips securely together, available in 4 positions the connectors can be specified in 1.9mm or 2.4mm pitch making them suitable for use with 8mm or 10mm aide FPC’s.

Supply connectors, fitted with pre-terminated 500mm length wires in 2 or 4 positons, these connectors can be connected directly to the flexible strip and feature the same integrated locking mechanism as the butt connectors. This connector allows for the connection of power to the LED strip whilst eliminating the need to solder wires direct to the flexible circuit.

PCB connectors, these connectors are available in straight, right angle and T bar formats and allow LED lighting installers maximum flexibility when building the LED lighting system. For example when using a long run of FPC LED strips its beneficial to connect the power to the middle of the strip run to prevent dimming of the LED’s at the end of the run due to voltage drops, this can be achieved using the T bar connector.

The white connectors can be integrated discretely into the application and minimize unwanted shadows on the flexible LED PCB, thanks to their flat design.
