The new SEK001 Sensor Evaluation Kit from Honeywell allows designers to quickly obtain and capture readings from Honeywell sensors thus greatly speeding up development time. The sensor evaluation kit is compatible with a range of Honeywell sensors including the TruStability™ RSC Series and digital versions (SPI or I²C) of the HSC Series and SSC Series Board Mount Pressure Sensors.
The SEK001 Sensor Evaluation Kit interfaces with an Arduino™ Uno Microcontroller Board and Honeywell software, the sensor to be evaluated is then simply mounted into the relevant socket on the SEK001 evaluation kit and the readings are displayed on the PC screen without the need to develop code.
The sensor readings may also be recorded to a .csv file for further analysis, and, in the case of the RSC Series, used in the equations found in the RSC Series datasheet. In addition to being mounted directly on the SEK001, the sensor may also be remotely connected to the SEK001 via wire leads, allowing the sensor to be tested in adverse environments, or in a prototype product for proof of concept testing.
Honeywell have also provided free software to control the Arduino™ Uno Microcontroller Board to take readings from the sensor which is downloadable at http://sensing.honeywell.com/sensors/evaluation-kit
Typical configuration
The SEK001 kit provides a simple, quick and cost-effective method for designers to perform a thorough evaluation on a range of Honeywell sensors without having to spend time developing code before sensor readings can be captured. The kit can also serve as a useful prototype or proof-of-concept platform in the customers target end application further speeding up time to market.
Honeywell have also released the SEK002 Evaluation Kit which can be used to evaluate the ABP Series (digital versions only) and MPR Series Board Mount Pressure Sensors; Honeywell HumidIcon™ Digital Humidity/Temperature Sensors: HIH6100 Series, HIH6000 Series, HIH7000 Series, HIH8000 Series, HIH9000 Series and HPM Series Particle Sensors. STMicroelectronics have introduced the L6986I device, a high-performance synchronous buck converter that is designed for use in applications that require isolated power conversion.
HARTING has launched the new D-Sub PushPull housings. Designed to improve efficient and process-safe handling, the HARTING D-Sub PushPull transforms a well-known connector family into a simplified solution. The PushPull locking mechanism significantly improves the assembly process and reduces installation and maintenance time by up to 50%.
In the world of connected devices, one truth stands firm: even the smartest technology fails if it can’t survive the environment it’s built for. Rain, dust, vibration, UV—these forces don’t care how elegant your circuitry is. They’re relentless. That’s why CamdenBoss created Node & Hub: a new family of enclosures engineered not just to protect electronics, but to make every installation faster, cleaner, and smarter.
