The OMRON EE-SY1201 is an exceptionally compact reflective Photomicrosensor (PMS) with a sensing distance of 3-4mm. A Photomicrosensor, also known as a photointerrupter, is a compact optical sensor that senses objects or object positions. These compact optical devices sense objects or object positions using an optical beam. Photomicrosensors (photointerrupters) are commonly used for object presence and absence detection, disk rotation counting, positioning of moving objects and rotating direction detection.
The EE-SY1201 PMS has been designed to address demand in the market for a surface-mount (SMD) device, OMRON have recognised there is increasing pressure on system size and see a definite market trend to move from leaded PMS solutions to SMD. There is also a real need for a miniature device with a mid-range 3-4mm sensing distance, this new device achieves this mid-range sensing distance within a compact form factor, it achieves this by utilising a built-in lens.
Internal Circuit
The EE-SY1201 miniature SMD PMS is ideal for a wide range of applications including 3D printers, mini printers, e-locks and factory automation equipment. Its diminutive size, of just 3mm x 4mm x 2mm, offers a peak sensing distance of 3mm, so typical applications could include paper pass detection in mini-printers, pin or cylinder rotation in e-locks, media pass detection in cutting machines and filament rotation in 3D printers; alternatively, factory automation equipment and industrial cameras.

For shorter sensing distances, OMRON also offer the EESY1200 which has a sensing distance of just 0.5mm.

OMRON's range of Push-In Terminal Block PCB Connectors, the XW4M (Plug) and XW4N (Socket) series, are ideal for applications that require fast, efficient and repeatable assembly with ease of inspection and with reliable performance
The OMRON W7BB-X01 transparent button, designated the "bash button" due to the way it is designed for use, is a robust mechanical button.
OMRON have expanded their range of T-modules to support accurate measurements in all types of test equipment.
The B5W Series of optical sensors from OMRON has been expanded with the addition of the B5W-DB sensor. Having a longer sensing distance of 550mm - longer than light convergent resistance sensors of the same size
OMRON has launched PWM coil controlled versions of three of its most popular power relays, all three relays offer coil power levels 75-90% lower than comparable standard DC coil versions and support pulse width modulation (PWM) of the coil holding current
