Eaton's HS hybrid supercapacitors are small-footprint, high-power energy storage devices engineered to meet the demanding requirements of today's energy and industrial applications. By combining advanced technologies, the HS Hybrid supercapcitors allow Eaton to offer a wide variety of solutions tailored to applications for backup power, pulse power and hybrid power systems. They can function as a standalone energy storage solution or work in tandem with batteries to optimise cost, lifetime, and runtime. System capabilities range from microwatts to hundreds of watts, making them suitable for a broad spectrum of applications.

Eaton's HS supercapacitors comprise new proprietary materials. Each supercapacitor has two electrodes, one similar to that of a battery and one a standard supercapacitor electrode. Consequently, their energy densities are closer to those of conventional batteries and up to 10 times higher than standard supercapacitors. The HS series supercapacitors are much less hazardous than conventional batteries, they exhibit no thermal breakdown, risk of explosion by short circuiting/mechanical damage or by charging from deep discharge.

Hybrid Supercapacitor Overview

The HSH series of hybrid high density cylindrical cells from Eaton are available in capacitance values from 3.0 F to 1400 F and feature a 3.8V operating voltage for high power and high energy applications. All products feature low ESR for high power density with environmentally friendly materials for a green power solution.

Eaton supercapacitors are maintenance-free with design lifetimes up to 20 years* and operating temperatures down to -25 °C and up to +70 °C
