HIROSE, a world-class manufacturer of innovative connector solutions, introduces the DF63 series of Wire-to-Board and Wire-to-Wire connectors designed for power supply applications.
The DF63 series 3.96mm pitch Wire-to-Board connectors are rated up to 15A when used with 16 AWG wire, they have been designed to meet the rigorous demands of internal power supplies. Featuring secure mating the connectors give a clear, audible, tactile click when mated correctly making assembly more convenient. The connectors can support 7.92mm pitch applications by omitting pins and are available with keying options preventing the risk of incorrect connector mating when using more than one connector in a system.
Optional Keying Feature
The DF63 series connectors employ a novel design that prevents incomplete insertion of the crimp contact into the housing, until the crimp contact is fully inserted correctly into the housing it is not possible to mate the plug and socket halves together. Furthermore, the PCB mount socket has a guide post that ensures the connector is not reverse mounted on the PCB.
Reverse Mounting Prevention
Available in positions from 1 to 6, the connectors have an option of vertical or right angle mounted PCB mount header and cable mounted socket for Wire-to-Board connections and a further cable mounted plug option allowing for in-line Wire-to-Wire and through panel connections. The connectors have a voltage rating of 630V AC/DC and current rating up to 15A when using 16 AWG size wire, crimp options are available for wire sizes from 16 AWG to 22 AWG. Operating temperature range is from -55°C to +105°C.
The DF63 series connectors have a wall structure between each contact, effectively isolating them from each other to prevent short circuits, the PCB connectors are suitable for board potting up to 5mm depth. In addition, the connectors have a moulded lance design that is part of the housing (not part of the terminal), this prevents tangled wires during assembly. The DF63 series housings are constructed from glass-reinforced PBT material rated UL94V-0 for flammability, contacts are Brass for the header contact and Copper alloy for crimp contacts.
