OMRON has launched PWM coil controlled versions of three of its most popular power relays, all three relays offer coil power levels 75-90% lower than comparable standard DC coil versions and support pulse width modulation (PWM) of the coil holding current. This allows designers to reduce the duty cycle of the coil voltage and therefore lower average current. Efficiency of the relays is greatly improved, due to the decrease in coil power consumption and associated heat that is generated. This in turn reduces the thermal load, especially in banked relay applications, and increases reliability.
There are three new PWM Coil Controlled Relays: First up is the high capacity, low profile 16A rated G2RL-PW1, this relay is ideal for miniature equipment, offering a coil power consumption of 100mW combined with a low profile of just 15.7mm high; a miniature 10A switching power relay, in the form of the SPDT G5Q-PW, with just 36mW coil power consumption; and the single pole G5NB-PW relay, the lowest power consumption 3A/5A relay, at just 32mW, but which still has a 10kV impulse withstand voltage. All three models are also available in IEC/EN 60335-1 conformant versions.
With the existing standard relays being OMRON’s most popular, these new PWM controlled versions are sure to add even more benefit to projects, where efficiency and low power consumption are vital.
These new PWM coil controlled relays are suitable for a wide range of applications including Domestic appliances, Office automation equipment, Industrial machines, Water heaters, HVAC and Refrigeration.

OMRON have expanded their range of T-modules to support accurate measurements in all types of test equipment.
The OMRON EE-SY1201 is an exceptionally compact reflective Photomicrosensor (PMS) with a sensing distance of 3-4mm. A Photomicrosensor, also known as a photointerrupter, is a compact optical sensor that senses objects or object positions.
The B5W Series of optical sensors from OMRON has been expanded with the addition of the B5W-DB sensor. Having a longer sensing distance of 550mm - longer than light convergent resistance sensors of the same size
Building on the success of its popular G2RL series, Omron has now added an extra high capacity relay model to the family, the new G2RL-1A-E2 model is capable of handling switching currents up to 23A
OMRON have released the compact, efficient G9KA PCB power relay rated at 800V / 200A, the relay was initially designed for power conditioners (PCS) associated with renewable micro power generation, as well as inverters and UPS systems
