HIROSE, a world-class manufacturer in connectors, developed the DF51K series of compact 2mm pitch robust Wire-to-Board Connectors for applications requiring more strength and durability.
The DF51K connectors feature a centre lock design that allows the connectors to be placed side-by-side for high density mounting, this helps to save valuable space on the PCB. The connector system has been carefully designed to be user and production friendly, polarised guide keys are integrated into the housing to prevent mis-mating and when mated a clear audible tactile click confirms secure engagement and a reliable connection.
Connector Features
In addition the DF51K connectors feature a secure contact lance strength which increases the contact retention into the housing and prevents contacts from coming loose if the cables are pulled or wrenched.
A wide number of options are offered in the DF51K connector family to increase design flexibility, single or double row versions are available in a straight or right angle housings with the option of gold or tin plated contacts. Single row versions are offered in 2 to 6 ways whilst double row versions are offered in 4 to 30 ways, the connector housings are moulded from black PA66 (Straight PCB Header) and PBT (Right Angle PCB header and Crimp Sockets) flame retardant material to UL94V-0 throughout.
Despite their compact size the connectors can handle currents up to 2A (subject to the contact and cable size used), contacts are available to suit 30 to 22 AWG wire sizes. The connectors are rated for operation at 250V AC/DC and have an operating temperature range from -55°C to +105°C.
