The FH28K series has been designed to withstand higher operating temperatures than standard FFC/FPC connectors. The series can withstand temperature ranges of up to 125°C; with this heat resistance capability the connector satisfies the needs of severe automotive requirements and other demanding industrial applications where high temperature operation is required.
The connectors accept tabbed or non-tabbed FFC/FPC cables, insertion of the cable it into the connector has been made very user-friendly due to the wide 116° opening range of the rotating actuator. The actuator is very robust, the actuator axle is securely hooked in place from above by the tips on the end of the connector contacts. This novel design forms a robust type of hinge ensuring the actuator does not come off under rough operation.
Latches within each side of the FH28K connector body, known as ‘side catchers’ are provided to guide and hold a tabbed FFC/FPC in place. In addition they provide a high FFC/FPC retention force and prevent the FFC/FPC from being pulled out easily preventing accidental disconnection. To assist assembly operators the products feature a clear tactile click which confirms secure lock completion providing overall high connection reliability.

The connector also has two metal fittings that are fixed to the board to increase the retention force and decrease possible stress on the signal pins. In additional they support the actuator from underneath to strengthen it further.
The FH28K series is suitable for a wide range of applications including automotive, industrial, robotics, portable equipment and medical devices.
