Wisbech, 9 November 2020 - Anglia today announced that it is now supporting the accelerated design of automotive systems and similar projects in robotics, automation and other industrial applications with a comprehensive suite of development boards from STMicroelectronics.
STMicroelectronics AutoDevKit™ fast prototyping development ecosystem is now available from inventory at Anglia, the new development toolset was initially developed to address the automotive and transportation market and is also now finding uses in industrial equipment such as robotics and autonomous systems which share similar application and reliability demands. It provides engineers with the best and easiest way for quick evaluation and rapid prototyping in a common, integrated and flexible environment supporting complete ECU-like development. AutoDevKit gives engineers the flexibility to easily mix and match components to create quick prototypes and consists of a suite of functional boards covering a broad range of applications including LED lighting, power management, sensing, audio, connectivity and communications.
Commenting, Andrew Pockson, Divisional Marketing Manager at Anglia, said, “STMicroelectronics has based AutoDevKit on five guiding principles: ease of prototyping, reuse of code and hardware, maximum design flexibility, reduction of time-to-market and simplify integration of multiple systems. Leveraging their extensive experience and knowledge of the demanding automotive market, STMicroelectronics AutoDevKit ecosystem from Anglia offers an efficient toolset for creating working prototypes, replacing traditional artisan approaches and supporting standardization and design reuse.”
After choosing the preferred AutoDevKit components, users are guided to connect the boards, generate code, compile and download firmware, without forgetting prototype testing and debugging. A fundamental aspect of the AutoDevKit ecosystem is to offer easy-to-use application-program interfaces (API) for communication and control for each of the functional boards supported. AutoDevKit is an Eclipse plugin running under SPC5Studio Integrated Development Environment. It is supported by a free AutoDevKit library, a software environment that lets users select the microcontrollers and functional boards from STMicroelectronics wide automotive portfolio to easily prototype an automotive solution.
