Following Bourns' acquisition of Komatsulite Mfg. Co., Ltd. in late 2014, Bourns has announced the release of a broad range of Komatsulite™ Mini-Breaker overtemperature and overcurrent protectors.
Headquartered in Osaka, Japan, Komatsulite is a leader in the field of safety devices for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Komatsulite's innovative mini-breakers (miniature thermal cutoff devices) enable long battery life, high current draw and fast recharge, while providing an effective mechanism to protect against overtemperature and overcurrent conditions.
The mini-breakers utilize a PTC thermistor, bimetallic disc and switching contact structure to provide fast overtemperature and overcurrent protection.
Product Structure
The Komatsulite™ mini-breakers are suitable for battery cell protection in applications such as handheld communication equipment, ruggedized tablet and notebook PC's, portable environmental monitoring equipment and other portable battery powered devices.
There are 5 ranges of mini-breakers available, HC, LC, KCA, NR-A and NR-C series.
