To address the requirements of semi-outdoor and outdoor applications the Industrial Automation Group of Advantech has launched a new range of devices that are specifically designed to be visible in bright sunlight.

To allow for outdoor reading, each of the devices is manufactured with a 1000nit (cd/m2) display - up from the average of 300-400 nits (cd/m2) - and has been optically bonded with material that fills the gap between the glass cover and the LCD panel providing a reflection rate of <0.2%.

Three models, TPC-1251SR, TPC-1551SR and FPM-3151SR, have been designed to work in harsh environments with extremes of temperature ranging from -20° C to 60° C. The 12” and 15” TPC’s have SVGA and XGA displays with Intel Atom processors, whilst the 15” FPM has a resistive touchscreen, direct-VGA and DVI ports.
