Bourns has announced the release of the TISP4SxxxyyBJR-S series single bidirectional Thyristor Surge Protectors, designed to limit overvoltages on telephone lines. A single Model TISP4S device provides 2-point protection and is typically used for the protection of 2-wire telecommunication equipment (e.g. between the Ring and Tip wires for telephones and modems).
In addition to Bourns’ comprehensive portfolio of thyristors, the new family of TISP® products was designed to provide excellent circuit protection for cost-sensitive applications.
The Bourns® model TISP4SxxxyyBJR-S overvoltage protector series consists of a symmetrical voltagetriggered bidirectional thyristor, provided in a space-saving surface mount SMB package. The model series meets industry standard requirements for RoHS compliancy* and Pb Free solder refl ow profiles.
Combinations of devices can be used for multi-point protection (e.g. 3-point protection between Ring, Tip and Ground).
