Introducing the B-L475E-IOT01A IoT Node Discovery Kit from STMicroelectronics

STMicroelectronics have introduced the B-L475E-IOT01A Discovery kit for IoT node which allows users to develop applications with a direct connection to cloud servers. The IoT Discovery kit enables a wide diversity of applications by exploiting low-power communication, multiway sensing and ARM® Cortex® -M4 core-based STM32L4 Series features.

The Discovery Kit features a wide range of connectivity options including Bluetooth® V4.1, Wi-Fi® and low power ISM band, the kit also has a dynamic NFC tag based on the M24SR. Two variants of the Discovery Kit are available, B-L475E-IOT01A2 supporting 868 Mhz ISM band or B-L475E-IOT01A1 supporting 915 MHz ISM band.

An extensive range of sensors are fitted to the kit enabling engineers to evaluate a wide range of potential real world applications. The on-board sensors include 2 digital omnidirectional microphones (MP34DT01), Capacitive digital sensor for relative humidity and temperature (HTS221), High-performance 3-axis magnetometer (LIS3MDL), 3D accelerometer and 3D gyroscope (LSM6DSL), 260-1260 hPa absolute digital output barometer (LPS22HB) and a Time-of-Flight and gesture-detection sensor (VL53L0X).

The Discovery kit also has support for Arduino Uno V3 and PMOD connectivity giving unlimited expansion capabilities with a large choice of specialized add-on boards.
