Introducing the BD9G101G 0.5A High Voltage input Step-down Switching Regulator from ROHM

ROHM Semiconductor have introduced a switching regulator designed to meet the high operating voltage, extended temperature, and small layout requirements demanded by today's high performance, space-constrained power supply applications. Featuring extremely high power efficiency over a wide current load, ROHM's BD9G101G switching regulator is optimized to support a comprehensive range of industrial, consumer and battery-powered equipment power supplies.

The BD9G101G Step-down regulator gives power supply designers a wide operating voltage range from 6 to 42V, an integrated internal high-side 45V power MOSFET, and provides 0.5A of DC output.

The regulator has an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to 105°C and is housed in a very small SOT-23-6 (SSOP6) package that measures only 2.9x2.8x1.25mm. The compact size make the device suitable for use in a wide range of products such as POS terminals, Handheld scanners, Field instruments, Network storage devices, Portable inspection equipment and Medical devices.

With an integrated 45V/800mΩ power MOSFET, the BD9G101G delivers greater efficiency whilst the fixed 1.5MHz operating frequency allows the use of small inductors and ceramic capacitors meaning a reduction in the size and cost of the circuit. The BD9G101G delivers 0.75V±1.5% feedback pin voltage and integrates overcurrent protection, under voltage lock out and thermal shutdown functions making the device extremely robust.

As users demand increased performance from smaller and smaller power supply applications, ROHM's BD9G101G switching regulator offers significant efficiency advantages over other voltage regulators and permits designers to further shrink board sizes.
