Introducing the PX3 series of Efficient, Durable and Affordable Heavy Duty Pressure Transducers by Honeywell

Honeywell have introduced the efficient, affordable and durable PX3 Series of Heavy Duty Pressure Transducers, the PX3 Series Pressure Transducers use piezoresistive sensing technology with ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) signal conditioning in a brass housing and Metri-Pack 150 electrical connector.

With a choice of ports, connectors, outputs and pressure ranges, the PX3 Series transducers can be configured to meet the needs of the application. They are engineered to be resistant to a wide variety of media for use in most harsh environments. The PX3 Series are compatible with Media including common HFC (hydrofluorocarbon) refrigerants, next generation low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants such as R32 and R1234ZE, petroleum oils, lubricants, hydraulic fluids, brake fluids, air and water.

The PX3 Series can be specified in pressure ranges from 1 bar to 46 bar and 15 psi to 667 psi (absolute and sealed gage*) and feature a ratiometric output of 0.5 Vdc to 4.5 Vdc. The transducers are fully calibrated and temperature compensated from -40 °C to 125 °C [-40 °F to 257 °F].

The PX3 Series transducers feature high insulation resistance and dielectric strength to protect the user and sensor in high over-voltage situations, and ensures that the device is compliant with industry standards.
The transducers also have high EMC immunity allowing them to operate reliably in the presence of electro-magnetic fields, such as near wireless signals, RF communication, and electrical devices.
High external freeze/thaw resistance enables the PX3 Series to survive exposure to frost, commonly found in refrigeration systems.

Efficient

With low current consumption of just 3.5 mA max. the PX3 Series transducers help to reduce energy costs and can be used in battery powered applications to enhance the product run time.
The PX3 Series have a Total Error Band (TEB) of ±1.0 % FSS typical accuracy promoting system efficiency and lower energy costs. Honeywell has adopted the TEB measurement technique which provides the most comprehensive, clear and meaningful indication of the sensor’s true measurement performance over a specified temperature range.
