KOA have introduced a new series of metal element current sensing resistors which offer high precision and reliability for demanding applications.
The SLP series are available in the resistance range from 10 mΩ to 100 mΩ with power ratings of 1W and 2W in both 2010 and 2512 sizes. They offer the option of 0.5% or 1% tolerance with ±50 ppm/K TCR making them ideal for applications where high precision current measurements are critical.
The SLP series have a metal electrode construction which offers excellent solderability along with outstanding thermal expansion and shrinkage stress performance. The exposed side termination structure of the resistors allow for standard automatic optical inspection of the solder joint during the production process, this is a major benefit vs. other ‘face bonded’ type sense resistors available on the market which have terminations only on the bottom, meaning post production solder joint inspection is more difficult.
SLP Resistor Construction
The SLP series resistors are AEC-Q200 approved and have an operating temperature range of -65°C to +170°C (with derating).
The new SLP series is suitable for precision current sensing in industrial equipment, automotive electronics, battery chargers, power supplies and DC-DC convertors.
