Murata has announced the KCM series of chip monolithic ceramic capacitors (MLCC) aimed at automotive applications. Equipped with metal pins, the capacitors have been specifically designed to have long-term resilience against substrate expansion and contraction stresses resulting from sharp temperature changes experienced in automotive environments. Also, the KCM/KC3 series offer higher reliability characteristics compared to discrete capacitor elements since they are able to withstand high levels of vibration and mechanical impact associated with such designs.
The KCM series suit a wide range of automotive electronic systems, such as DC-DC converters in engine control units (ECU), in conventional automobiles as well as for the growing market for electric (EV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).The series comprises capacitors with nominal operating voltages from 25 to 100 VDC, and with values in the range 4.7 to 22 uF. Measuring 6.1 x 5.3 mm, and with height varying from 2.8 to 6.4 mm dependent on value, these compact capacitors require less board space and have been achieved by stacking capacitive elements.
Murata have introduced the NFG0QHB series of common mode noise filters, designed for high-speed differential interfaces such as those used on USB and HDMI interfaces.
The BAC05 series from Murata offers a rugged design, efficient and flexible family of AC/DC converters suitable for a wide range of applications including industrial, medical, building automation and IoT devices.
Murata have extended their range of Lithium Coin cells to include High Drain and Extended Temperature types to meet the demanding requirements of next generation IoT devices.
Murata's range AMR sensors are magnetic switches that have an integrated IC that produces high and low output digital signals based on the magnetic field strength detected.
Murata manufacture a wide range of sounder and buzzer components based on Piezoelectric ceramic technology, the range includes surface mount and through hole housed sounders and Piezoelectric diaphragms.
The LXRW series from Murata are innovative variable capacitors which allow their capacitance value to be varied by applying a voltage, the capacitance varies proportional to the voltage applied making them ideal for use in frequency tuning circuits.
