Murata expands supercapacitor range with introduction of DMH model featuring the world's lowest profile of 0.4mm, samples available from Anglia

Murata has further expanded its supercapacitor series line-up to include the new DMH model featuring the world’s lowest profile of just 0.4mm.

Supercapacitors (EDLCs) typically have longer life times than batteries and are energy storage devices with higher capacitance than conventional capacitor technology such as ceramic capacitors or electrolytic capacitors. Murata's supercapacitors feature the lowest levels of ESR throughout the industry.

Murata now have three series of supercapacitors, the DMT series which features a wide operating temperature range and high reliability, the DMF series featuring ultra-low ESR (<100mΩ) and the new DMH series featuring very low profile suitable for wearable products.

The new DMH supercapacitor fulfils growing market demand for lower profile electronic devices which can be integrated into wearable products. The new 35mF, 4.5V supercapacitor features the world’s lowest profile measuring just 0.4mm thickness and has a low ESR of 300mΩ. This product allows engineers to make end products thinner and can be used to improve end-product performance by stabilizing the system power line.

The Murata DMF, DMT and DMH supercapacitors are suitable for a wide range of applications including back up for enterprise storage systems, peak power assist for battery-driven low profile devices such as smart key, tracking devices, data transmission in wireless communication devices and sensors, auxiliary power supply for devices with beacon, wearable devices, mobile electronics, smart cards, electronic paper devices, and similar applications.
