Renesas Introduces IDT® RF Amplifier with Superior Wide-Band and High Linearity Performance

IDT RF

Renesas has introduced the IDT® F0424 high-gain broadband RF amplifier, which offers configurable high linearity performance at the lowest possible power consumption for a variety of receiver and transmitter applications operating between 600MHz and 4200MHz. The device offers the flexibility to tailor linearity performance to fit the needs of a wide range of applications and operates from a 3.3V or 5V supply.

The F0424 is a 600MHz to 4200MHz SiGe high-gain broadband RF amplifier. The combination of low noise figure (NF) and high linearity performance allows the device to be used in both receiver and transmitter applications. The F0424 is designed to operate with a single 5V or 3.3V power supply using a nominal 70mA of ICC. With a supply voltage of 5V, the F0424 provides 17.3dB gain with +40dBm OIP3 and 2.3dB noise figure at 2600MHz.

The IDT® F0424 offers GaAs levels of broadband performance with the superior reliability and performance over temperature advantages of silicon.

The IDT® F0424 is an ideal solution for macro base stations, massive MIMO, repeaters, small cell and test equipment because it combines a flat gain across a wide spectrum with IDT’s unique Zero Distortion technology, which dramatically reduces intermodulation distortion and significantly improves a receiver’s signal-to-noise performance. The IDT® F0424 device expands Renesas’s leadership position in the growing market for Active Antenna Systems (AAS), which are critical for the massive MIMO-based cellular base stations that carriers worldwide are using to deliver 4G and 5G services.

The IDT® F0424 device offers telecom equipment manufacturers several advantages, including the ability to optimize performance for their unique operating condition requirements, such as linearity versus current consumption. The device also delivers stability over a wide range of environmental conditions and frequency bandwidths.

The IDT® F0424 is packaged in a 2 × 2 mm, 8-DFN with 50Ω single-ended RF input and output impedances for ease of integration into the signal-path.

The IDT® F0424 devices is supported by the evaluation board allowing designers to quickly evaluate the performance of the device in their application.
